Magnesium carbonate, MgCO3 (archaic name magnesia alba), is an inorganic salt that is a white solid. Several hydrated and basic forms of magnesium carbonate also exist as minerals.
Frequently occurs in nature mixed with calcite, forming dolomite or dolomitic limestone deposits.

Practically insoluble in water, acetone, and ammonia. Reacts in acids.

Uses:
Magnesium Carbonate common cosmetic ingredient, it can also be found in toothpaste, medicines and soft drinks. It is also used in dusting powders and deodorants as an anti-caking agent and a perfume carrier.
